Guidelines on how to prepare your file for printing.

Recommended Settings

Fabric

JPG, BMP, GIF, TIF or PNG

Flattened with no layers or transparency

Transfers

TIF or PNG
200MB file size limit
300 DPI
RGB colour mode
sRGB v4 preference colour space

File

You can upload JPG, BMP, GIF, TIF & PNG files up to 200MB. If you experience difficulty uploading a large file, try reducing the resolution of your image to reduce the file size.

Resolution

We recommend 180 DPI for fabric and 300 DPI for transfers. If our system cannot detect a resolution it will default to 360 DPI.

Colour

Our printers are set up to receive files in RGB. Files not in RGB will be converted to RGB and can create unexpected results.

We recommend using the sRGB v2 or v4 preference colour space. Ensure the ICC profile is embedded in your file for the most accurate result.

Transparency

Transparent areas will be unprinted. Partial transparency can create unexpected results. Refer to our artwork transparency guide for detailed information.

White areas printed on fabric will be unprinted. White areas printed on transfers will be printed white.

How Colour Differs On Screen to Print

Colour on a screen is made from red, green and blue (RGB) light. Colour on a screen is additive which means you start with a black background and add colour.

Colour on a print is made from a combination of colour ink. Colour on a print is subtractive which means you start with a white background and block out parts of the spectrum.

The colour space on screen is wider than the colour space on print. This means there are colours that on screen that cannot be created in print. This problem is most apparent on bright or fluorescent colours.
